Some of our resorts have no Swedish staff on site during the season and guests will not have a tour guide from Sweden with them during the week. For these resorts, we are looking for people who can be representatives of UCPA Resor, to help our travelers and us at the office in Sweden.
We require the following qualities:
What does the job entail?
You must be available to UCPA Travel (in Sweden), the center and the guests at the resort if situations arise that they do not resolve themselves. The tasks may be varied and may change during the season. However, the idea is that the representative should be able to devote a lot of time to skiing and only work in the evenings, Saturdays and possibly Sundays. You are responsible for accommodation, food, lift passes, etc. and receive compensation from UCPA Travel according to the number of hours worked.
Are you a socialite who is passionate about skiing? We are looking for new members of the UCPA family in the form of bus tour guides!
Our goal is to make the bus ride to and from the Alps as fun, painless and short as possible for our guests. We also want the week down at the center and on the slopes to flow and for travelers to always have someone to turn to for questions, or just a little socializing. You as a tour guide are the spider in the web, and are there for the guests and offer yourself just because you love it. You don't have to be a god at skiing, but you do have to want to make each guest's trip memorable - in your own little way.
The mission
You will work as a tour guide on our buses to and from the French Alps. Once down in the resort, you act as UCPA Travel's representative towards our guests. Your mission includes socializing and informing the guests and helping in case of any incidents. The tasks also include maintaining good contact with the French staff at UCPA's center and preparing, for example, enrollment. You will be part of a ski group during the week and, unless there are special circumstances, you will have the opportunity to do a lot of skiing.
We would ideally like you to:
- Be over 23 years old and have traveled at least twice with UCPA Travel to the Alps in winter by bus, to know and understand the concept.
- Enjoy helping and creating community in a group, provide honest service and have good social skills. You are used to tackling problems and resolving situations that may arise.
- You should be able to work at least two to three weeks during the season (week 52-14).
- It is not a requirement, but we attach great importance to French language skills.
- You should have a genuine interest in skiing, people and in France.
Both we at UCPA Resor and our centers in the French Alps see the value of having Swedish staff on site, as many travelers who visit the centers are actually Swedish. Working for UCPA may not be for everyone, we require that you speak fluent French, love skiing and are interested in meeting new people. But if you find our requirements challenging and are prepared to give it your all, we can guarantee experiences beyond the ordinary.
We require the following qualities:
What does the job entail?
You will work under the French management of a UCPA center, mostly at the reception desk. The nature of the reception work may vary from center to center, but involves common reception duties, such as checking in and out guests of varying nationalities and ages. You will also answer questions and provide information to other staff in the center. You are one of the French team that serves all the center's guests, but there may also be time to support and help the Swedish guests a little extra. Of course, we in Sweden will keep in touch with you during the winter and hope for good cooperation.
On site, you will be offered accommodation and food, and you will have a salary that is sufficient to cover your living expenses. You shouldn't expect to be able to put a lot of money away in your savings account, but in return you will add to your experience bank, your CV and have a memorable experience.
UCPA - Freely translated to English as "National Federation for Sports and Outdoor Centers" - has a history of over 50 years. It is, in short, a non-profit, all-French organization supported by, among others, the French state. The purpose is to give ordinary people the opportunity to learn and develop in one or more sports together, in pleasant and unpretentious forms. The organization has about 80 centers in France and the West Indies, 28 of them are located at well-known winter sports resorts in the French Alps.
