Cancellation protection can be bought from us for SEK 495 per person. It applies in the event of injury or illness before departure, on presentation of an approved medical certificate. For the certificate to be valid, it must be issued following a personal visit (not a visit via an app or by phone). A certificate from the Swedish Social Insurance Agency is not sufficient. It can be ordered at the same time as the regular booking and cannot be added once the registration fee has been paid.
The medical certificate must include the following information:
1) Diagnosis
2) Date of the first examination / treatment on which the doctor's advice against
travelling is based.
The medical certificate must be issued on letterhead showing the doctor's work address and telephone number, along with the doctor's name in print. The certificate must state the period during which the traveller is unable to take part, by giving the dates of convalescence. If there is no clear diagnosis, the organiser is entitled to declare the medical certificate invalid.
If the traveller has taken out cancellation protection, then in the cases set out in UCPA's terms and conditions of travel, section 5.3, the traveller is entitled to cancel the trip at no cost other than an administration fee of SEK 200 per person plus the amount the traveller has paid for the cancellation protection, SEK 495 per person.
Please note: Cancellation protection does not cover the cost of flights if a trip with a scheduled flight has been booked, only the remaining part of the package holiday.
