Check that you have proper cover in case of injury or illness during your trip. Bring your EU card from Försäkringskassan (the Swedish Social Insurance Agency). It proves that you are insured in Sweden. The EU card is ordered via Försäkringskassan: https://www.forsakringskassan.se/. The EU card entitles you to healthcare on the same terms as the country's own citizens. You have to pay the doctor on the spot, but you are then reimbursed by your insurance company once you have submitted the receipts. Please note: repatriation is not covered by Försäkringskassan.
Does your home insurance not cover the activity you will be doing on your trip with us, or do you not have home insurance? ERV (formerly Europeiska) knows our trips well and will help you in the best possible way. From experience, we know it is best for you as a customer to contact ERV directly, as they are experts in their field and can find the best possible solution for you. Mention that you are travelling with UCPA Resor when you contact ERV, and you will get the best help.
Insurance for skiing:
Carte Neige - for proper cover on and off piste
It is important to have good insurance cover when you ski. If something were to happen up on the mountain, being transported by, for example, helicopter, sledge or ambulance can cost many thousands of kronor. It is essential to know that you always have to pay for any costs related to an injury yourself, even when you are skiing with your instructor. The best insurance you can buy in the Alps, through the tourist office or at the lift station, is called Carte Neige and was developed by the Fédération Française de Ski. The insurance is also valid outside France and covers all costs arising from an injury, including when skiing off piste. It is taken out for a full year and costs approx. €60-70.
Carré Neige
If you do not want to buy Carte Neige for the whole season, in some resorts you can choose Carré Neige instead. Take your lift pass to the lift ticket office and pay just a few euros (approx. €2-3) for the specific day you want to be insured. This covers off-piste skiing in the area close to the lift.
Cancellation protection
Cancellation protection can be bought from us for SEK 495.
It covers injury or illness before departure, on presentation of an approved doctor's certificate. For the certificate to be valid, it must be based on a personal visit (not a visit via an app or by phone). A certificate from Försäkringskassan is not sufficient. Cancellation protection can be ordered together with a regular booking and cannot be added after the registration fee has been paid.
If the traveller has taken out cancellation protection, then in the cases stated in UCPA's travel terms, point 5.3, the traveller has the right to cancel the trip at no cost other than a handling fee of SEK 200 and the cost the traveller has paid for the cancellation protection, SEK 495 per person.
